John Yi is a Managing Director who leads Gateway’s APAC Investor Relations practice, advising public and pre-IPO companies on investor positioning, capital markets strategy and engagement with the investment community. He has led several dozen IR campaigns across a wide range of sectors and works closely with an extensive network of strategic partners, including bankers, attorneys and auditors. John is known for helping international management teams navigate U.S. capital markets by translating complex business strategies into clear, compelling equity narratives, with experience spanning IR program design, investor targeting, cross-border listings and transactions, and ongoing public company advisory.

Prior to joining Gateway, John spent two years at The Walt Disney Company in the Consumer Products Commercialization group, supporting Marvel and Pixar licensing initiatives out of Glendale, California. John earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from Pepperdine University, where he was an NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete, and a member of the West Coast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. 

Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife and child, playing basketball and golf, and exploring the best new restaurants across Los Angeles and Orange County.
