James joined Gateway in April 2022 as an Associate focusing on investor relations engagements and assisting with IR consulting in the consumer, industrials, and business services industries.

Before joining Gateway, James spent three years in investor relations and various strategic financial roles at Lithia Motors, most notably managing the growth plan announcement in 2020 to grow revenue to $50 billion with a $50 EPS by 2025. He also aided the closure of a syndicated commercial mortgage facility for $250 million, the issuance of an auto loan ABS facility, and assisted in high yield bond issuance. During his time with Lithia Motors the company moved up 100 positions on the Fortune 500 list, added ~$10 billion in revenue, and expanded operations internationally.

James earned his BS from the University of Oregon in Product Design and enjoyed his time on the intramural sailing team. He then moved to the Netherlands to earn his MS in International Management at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. As a member of the Het Galjoen Student Rowing Association, he competed in the annual 134th Varsity. He also worked as an international economics researcher throughout Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Spain, where he published and presented original research on the global textile supply chain at various international conferences.

When out of office, James loves all things outdoors, including fly fishing throughout the country, and exploring locally in Orange County.
